Tradition of Community and Charitable Excellence

The Ojai Tennis Tournament is a wonderfully unique tradition dating back to 1896. It’s put on by the Ojai Valley Tennis Club (OVTC), whose charitable mission is the promotion of tennis, physical fitness and the provision of recreational facilities and programs for young people. Neither the Tennis Club nor The Ojai Tournament has ever had any paid employees because of the dedicated efforts of literally hundreds of volunteers.

Navigating Rising Costs through Community Support

Each year, tournament expenses have increased as the Tennis Club continues its efforts to improve The Ojai experience for players and spectators alike. While most expenses are offset by entry fees, ticket sales and sponsorships, OVTC, like many other nonprofit organizations, has needed to turn to public fundraising for support.

Fundraising proceeds help to:

Maintain the spirit and traditions of The Ojai Tennis Tournament.

Introduce tennis to youth at an early age and provides opportunities for their continuing enjoyment and development through many various programs.

Contribute to maintenance and improvement of public tennis courts in the valley that are used during the tournament and year-round.

Provide scholarships for those who express need.
