The men’s and women’s tennis regionals wrapped up Saturday evening setting the table for the CCCAA State championships on Wednesday, April 23 at The Ojai. The defending men’s State champions, Fresno City College, make a return appearance to Ojai this year after defeating American River, 5-3. They will face Irvine Valley College who advanced past Desert, 5-4, in the team championship Wednesday at noon at Pierpont Racquet Club in Ventura.
On the women’s side, there will be a rematch of last year’s State championship battle between Fullerton and Sierra College. Fullerton holds the distinction of defending State champions after a 5-4 victory over Sierra in 2013. The final match will take place Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Ventura College.
